Baby Names
Hey Deanna, I've been thinking about baby names. Have you ever thought of Murray Spomer? The man who built all the cabinets in our house was named Murray. At first I thought everyone was calling him by his last name because it is a last name to me of course having a sister with it as her last name, so I asked him what his first name was and he says "Murray" like I was crazy. After I started thinking of it as a first name it grew on me and since I really liked him, it became a cool first name to me. It was also a very common thing to do in families in the past. In genealogy, whenever you run across a strange first name you always use it as a clue to finding the mother's family name or another family name you may be missing. In fact our great grandmother Anna Elam who married John Daly named her youngest son Elam Daly. Hey, what about Elam Spomer? Or Daly Spomer? Or Thomas the Train Spomer? (just kiddin about the train part, William is a Thomas the train man around here!)
Speaking of the Elams, I have an open invitation to an Elam family reunion being held June 2-4 in Fredericksburg, Texas. It is for all descendants of the Elam family from way back in the 1700's. If anyone is interested I'll be glad to share the information. Fredericksburg is a popular tourist town and has lots to do and see.
I told Chey that your picture was a just a joke, she said "I know" But you know I think her daddy has a bumper sticker that says I'd rather go hunting with Dick Cheney than ride in a car with Ted Kennedy.
Hey guys! Looking forward to Sunday night birthday party down! I may even cheat on my diet a little. No, I am saving my 35 points for it! For other weight watchers, Ainslie sent me the recipe for her 5 can soup that her boys love and I tried it last night. It was great!
Ainslies 5 Can Soup
1 can Del Monte fresh cut new potatoes drained and chopped (I got diced)
1 can Del Monte fresh cut sliced carrots drained (used another brand)
1 can Del Monte fresh cut Zucchini with Italian style tomato sauce
1 can Del Monte Diced tomatoes with Basil, Garlic and Oregano
1 can beef or chicken broth (I used 99%fat free beef)
Combine in pot, bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer 3 minutes, season with salt and pepper. The whole pot is 3 points (no I did not eat the whole pot)
I am off to have lunch with a friend today (yes I do still have one) then I will come back to my nest and ponder the world's problems and see if I can come up with any solutions. Or maybe take a nap. Life is indeed good. Love you all! Have a great day!
