The Name Game

Hey Carol, nice to see you bloggin! I know you're a busy girl this time of year! I just happen to be talking to Bob on the phone when I clicked onto the blog. I am reporting for him. He likes to be called Robert in the professional world and introduces himself to clients and such as Robert. However in his personal life he feels most comfortable with friends and family addressing him in the more familiar form, Bob. There are other names we sometimes call him but I won't go into that here. You know the only real fear with the name Charlie would be the possible change over to Chuckie (woo ooh) or Chuck Chuck Bo Buck Banana Fanna Fo oops, this is a family blog. I still like Cash. I don't think you can go wrong with that one. Or Montana.. that sounds manly could be Monty. Or Dakota, maybe Kansas, Oklahoma. Just kiddin. I can't think of any new ones. We have a Ferrel in our family passed on to a girl, Ferrah. Hey how about Harley? Steven goes good with Spomer. Spooky Spomer has a nice ring. I'm really grasping at straws here. Ok, I'll stop rambling now and go about my business. Blogging off

Funny you should mention Harley. I was telling someone, don't remember who, that I like that name since I met a cool guy with it not long ago.

Actually, I like Charlie too, and don't think Chuck is bad either, except for the possible ramifications you mentioned. Not sure about Spooky, but there has been some talk of Spanky.

Elam is nice, and also like Liam.

WOO HOO I love it! Spanky Spomer! I really do! Ainslie and Rick talked about calling William, Liam. I had not thought of it as a nick name for William but I guess it could be. However they decided the more formal William was the proper thing to call him and I must say he is the most adorable perfect William there ever was.

You all are funny! I'm glad there is such a fervor over this subject. Don't you think that kids just grow into their names to a point where you just couldn't think of them as anything else? My good friend who is 15 weeks behind me is having a boy and has the name Enzo on the top of her list. Apparently it is Italian and shortened form of Lorenzo. I think its pretty cool. I'm just not that brave! She's gotten some negative reactions so far, so I think she's going to stop talking about it. Spanky was a close second to Owen, and a great baseball name, don't ya think? Well, as of today, my hair is cut and my toes are pedicured. Now I'm ready for that baby. Ciao for now....

Homer Spomer? I'm talking to Jim Murray right now, and he said that was discussed too. Now you're talking baseball!

I should have said the name Homer has been batted around, but I didn't think of it at the time. That name is all in fun, but I still do like the name Elliott. Elliott Spomer has a rather dignified feel to it, as does Owen Spomer, and Owen and Elliott sound nice together. Oh well, I guess you can tell that our baby is the main thing on my mind right now!

What else is going on these days? Let's hear it. Love ya, C1

Thanks Dee for asking for input. People usually don't do that as I think they don't want to feel pressured but ya know ultimately the choice belongs to the parents and it really is fun for others to try to think up the one that you'll just fall in love with. I do believe I've even seen people sell naming rights to babies on eBay! Anyway, it has made for some lively blogging here. I like Enzo and think her family will too when the baby arrives. You are absolutely right when you say they grow into their names. I was not too crazy about the name Cooper when Bri and Amber announced it but it suits him fine and I've really grown to love the name. However there is the problem with Rinz, she pronouces Coop as Poop....need I say more? I made it to the post office in time today so a little package is coming your way. Hope you like them, excuse the wrapping, I was in a hurry and one handed to boot. Well I'm going to go wine a bit, it is Friday you know. Love ya!
